About the Artist
I make art in Oakland, California.
I get excited when color and shape meet function. I started my art career with paint and fabric, working on interiors and creating comfortable yet elegant spaces for families. I moved into voice, photography and film work and then visiting an artist colony in Canada, I tried glass blowing and glass fusing and I was smitten! Creating fused glass is fun and brings me joy. I am inspired by travel, people, books and nature. I adore selecting glass and make each piece by hand, one at a time, so no two pieces are ever exactly alike, though creating sets and companion pieces is a wonderful challenge I enjoy. I like making things that are artistic yet practical, "usable fusible art"  you might say. Bringing a particular idea or vision to life is quite rewarding - even on those occasions when the glass has a mind of its own and leads the way, I get satisfaction from learning something new.
